He has written books about the history of ethics, the idea of multiculturalism, and the construction of race. This digital lecture led by College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean Rick Davis draws from the legacy of many impactful works, including Virginia Opera and Richmond Symphony’s world premiere of Loving v. Virginia, based on the true story of Mildred and Richard Loving, whose interracial marriage led to a landmark Supreme Court decision in 1967.
